Despite its rich cultural history and largely unexplored vistas, the country of Bosnia & Herzegovina has had to endure a million scars.
Yet, it certainly does well to hide those indelible marks.
YOUR GUIDE TO BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA
Oftentimes in our travels we’ve found places that, in our opinion, have been grossly overrated; thankfully, for every one of these, we’ve found many more that were hidden from the prying gaze of the conventional tourist. The tiny country of Bosnia & Herzegovina can squarely be placed in the latter camp; we could not help but wonder why this was one of Europe's most unappreciated travel destinations.
Most tourists wouldn’t even consider a trip to this country. We were there for just three days but covered a lot of ground during that brief stay, and while the country’s recent tumultuous past and ethnic strife could be inferred from a holistic snapshot of the region, they were nonetheless superficially invisible.
