Cartagena & The Rosario Islands
One of the best places to visit in Colombia is the colonial city of Cartagena. The best part – you can tour the location on foot. Take your kids for a tour to the Gold Museum that is home to ancient Colombian relics. The other exciting venue here is the Chocolate Museum, where your kids can attend a chocolate-making workshop. The most favorite part of the tour here is a Pirate Scavenger Hunt at the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas. Later, a visit to the beaches is a must, especially the Rosario Islands, where you can travel by boat. The activities that your kids can indulge in include – snorkeling and scuba diving in the clear blue ocean water.
Bogotá
The next place on your Colombian family vacation list is Bogotá.
One of the best things that kids enjoy here is the cable car ride up the Monserrate mountain top to visit the church. You can then take your kids to the Bogotá Graffiti tour, where you pay for what you like to see of the street art. There is also the Gold Museum and the Museo Botero that are must-visit. From here, you must go to the Paloquemao Market for fruits, snacks, and juices. You can rent a two-wheeler and explore the entire city.
Medellin
One of the smaller cities in Colombia, Medellin was one of the most dangerous cities in the 1990s. Today, however, it ishome to cable cars that link the different hills in the city. There are eco-parks and libraries too. Visit the Museum of Antioquia and then head to the hills using the escalator system to visit the colorful street murals. Finish off the tour with a visit to the Explora Park and the hands-on science Museum.
